I've made up a channel mapping spreadsheet.Ī QAM tuner is the equivalent of a "Cable Ready" Analog TV tuner, it can receive unencrypted digital cable channels, it's there for the Cable Companies to use, standard on most digital TVs that have a tuner, yet it seems like the cable companies are behaving as if this technology doesn't exist. I get about 140 unscrambled digital channels on my QAM tuner (some are just audio FM station rebroadcasts) with Comcast, yet if you ask Comcast they will tell you that you need one of their set top boxes.
